How to make turnover box mould?
As a popular method of manufacturing plastic products, injection molding has been widely used in various industries, such as automobile, electronics, and packaging. And the production of injection molding requires a solid and precise mold, also known as the injection mold or injection tooling. Here, let's take the production of a turnover box injection mold as an example, and introduce the steps and skills of making it.
Firstly, designing a turnover box mold requires a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the product blueprint and the specification of the injection molding machine. The design must guarantee the dimensional accuracy, structural strength, and surface quality of the molded product. And it must take into account the injection gate, the cooling system, the ejection mechanism, and other essential features.
Secondly, based on the design, the mold maker will use computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to generate the machining program for the CNC milling machine or the CNC EDM machine. They may also test the mold with a small injection molding machine to verify the mold's operation, and adjust the mold temperature, the injection pressure, and other parameters.
Fourthly, if there is no problem or defect found in the mold, the mold maker will polish the mold surface and apply some anti-rust oil on it. And they will pack the mold in a wooden or plastic box for shipment.
Finally, after receiving the mold, the customer can install it on an injection molding machine and start the mass production of the turnover boxes. And during the production process, they should follow the instructions and suggestions of the mold maker and the machine manufacturer, to ensure the quality and efficiency of the injection molding.
